Eurotrip 2014: Paris, France

Glamorous girl and death glare from a woman.

So much butter, so much happiness.
Despite the stereotype that Europeans are antisocial (especially the French), I was pleasantly surprised by brief instances of random kindness from strangers in Paris. Then again I myself am pretty antisocial so I guess my standards aren't very high. But I do remember two super nice park janitors who tried striking up some small talk with me when I was indulging in the croissants above. Sadly my French was too poor to keep up with them. My list of nice strangers does not include the strange old man near the Musée d'Orsay who said he was free all day to go to museums with me...

Luxembourg Garden

Quite possibly the fattest pigeon I have ever seen. Given the svelte nature of most Parisians, I believe that pigeon obesity is inversely proportional to human obesity.  The influx of tourists is probably an influential factor too.

Ah, the popular Berthillon. I wasn't that big of a fan of my wild strawberry and mango sorbet because (to me) it was overly sweet and icy. Perhaps I might have had better luck with a cream based flavor.

Galeries Lafayette - a fancy indoor department store. I loved the fact that the Burberry coats had so much security on them.

When I was eating this Ladurée creation outside, a pregnant woman came up to me and kept saying something about "crème, crème." I handed her a coffee stirrer I stole from McDonalds because it seemed like she wanted some. And sure enough, she scooped up some whipped cream, ate it, and walked away in bliss like it was no big deal.

Snails were okay - they had the texture of clams and just took on whatever flavor the sauce was. Also, you gotta love the tiny French portions D:
