Eurotrip 2014: Vienna, Austria

Pastries, pretty buildings, and more pastries. You can also see from the photos below how much the weather changed in a matter of days, constantly fluctuating between severely overcast, rainy, and sunny.

Schnitzel at Figlmüller.
I made it a priority to visit a cat cafe :3

I was a huge fan of these icons on the metro, especially the Freud-looking old man.

Shiny currants.
Left: stir fried noodles with kebab meat (yesssss). Right: har har...

Bad picture, but really tasty cake at the famous Demel pastry shop. On the bottom was a pie crust sort of thing, followed by vanilla sponge cake, a tart yogurt cream filling, more sponge cake, and a jellied raspberry top.
Indeed that is a gun-shaped cake. Taken at Demel.

Pakistani buffet: pay what you want! Legit food, where guilt prompts you to pay an adequate amount. I chose to pay €5 for my portion.

History happening: during my last night in Vienna, I met two girls in my hostel from the US who originally went to Israel for the Birthright trip and chose to backpack around Europe for a short duration before going home. Unfortunately, the crazy Israeli/Palestinian violence erupted during that time and they couldn't fly back from Israel because Tel Aviv airport was closed, thus forcing them to spend a night in Vienna before flying out.
