Spent a day doing some hiking in Valley of Fire State Park, which is about an hour away from Vegas. Cool bacon-y rock formations and alien petroglyphs of bat women. Too bad they don't really have food in the park so I was dying of hunger by the end of the day and could only think of unlimited greasy buffet food.
Also! Vegas has Donut Bar, Hash House A Go Go, and Tacos El Gordo! It's like SD, but with easier parking.
