CCF Cook-off :O

Some of the collegians at Crosslife organized a cook off challenge today, complete with themes and judges! Even though it was advertised as a contest, the hosts joked that it was more of a "forced potluck" in the sense that we were forced to all cook something. But food and fellowship is never a bad combo.

For the challenge, everyone was broken up into 4 teams by cuisine: Italian, Chinese, Mexican, and American. As part of team 'murica, my group decided to make steak sliders on Hawaiian bread, and sweet potato fries with spicy mayo.

Juicy steak cooked in butta
Sweet potato fries: check out that totally "American" "flag."
Assembling the sliders: bread, steak, carmelized onions, avocado, cole slaw.
Completed! Avec fancy toothpicks.
Amazing fried pork wantons from Team Chinese.
Team Italian ended up winning the night. Sure they had a master chef on their team, and made amazing lasagna. But when they brought out their light and creamy angel food cake tiramisu, everyone knew it was game over.

Fancy cooking quota for the quarter: complete.
